I heard this on the news this morning, and I just couldn't believe it:

I understand the Principal's decision regarding the insubordination, everything else couldn't be more wrong. Why the hell did they censor the word vagina? Randomly they could censor the word nose or arm! What is so scary about that word? Why cannot a child hear about it?

Are we that afraid of everything related to sex? When are we going to realize that sex cannot and should not be demonized?

Funny, I was just reading about this. If words like "vagina", a proper word for what I like to call "naughty bits" is unsuitable for small children to hear, then you're saying that it's the organ itself that's the problem, as you can hardly call it a swear word.

Maybe the girls should have replaced the word vagina with "cunt" and seen how that went down:)

Censorship is bullshit. Censorship breeds ignorance. And with sex, that's where adolescent pregnancy, the rampant spread of STDs, unreported sexual attacks come from. I mean vagina, really? If we can't use the technical, medical terms, what the fuck do we call our own body parts? They aren't going anywhere!

(stepping slowly away from the soapbox)

coochie, cunt, pussy, heart shaped box, hair pie, twat.......

As a parent, aren't you supposed to teach your children the "medical" term for body parts?

Some lady complained to a theater that had their marquee with the latest plays coming to town. One of the plays was the Vagina Monologues. She said it was embarrassing to tell her 10 year old niece what a vagina is.

All I can say is WTF? Gee can they not grow up? How do these people have serious discussions with their doctors????

I totally agree with you - It's proposterous and unfortunate for our children especially. Aren't there more important things to worry about?
